This section will serve as a resource center for groomers and other Pet Care Service Association members who need information on starting and operating a salon, training staff, hiring stylists, buying and using grooming products and equipment.
The Pet Care Service Association defines pet grooming as a service that helps pet owners maintain the health and appearance of their pets through proper skin and coat care, breed specific styling and customized styling and care for pets with specific needs. A stylist undergoes training through an accredited grooming school or by apprenticing under a skilled and knowledgable professional stylist. Because they work so closely with the pets, stylists are often the first link between the owner and their veterinarian. A professional stylist can make a potentially stressful situation into a pleasant and positive experience for both the pet and the pet owner.
The goals of this section are:
- Serve as a resource center for PCSA members on topics and issues related to the grooming industry.
