PCSA Members Recognized for their Service
Several Pet Care Services Association (PCSA) members were recently recognized for their service to the association and the pet care industry during PCSA’s Annual Convention and Expo in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. PCSA members who received awards include: -
Gretchen Meienburg, CKO, owner of Pampered Pets Bed & Biscuit in Napoleon, Ohio. Meienburg was awarded the Golden Scoop Award, PCSA’s highest honor. Meienburg was instrumental in creating PCSA’s newly adopted Standards and Practices, as well as chairing PCSA’s Ethics Committee and helping to improve the image and professionalism of pet care professionals. -
Brian Linning, CKO, owner of Bark 'N' Town in Ingleside, Illinois. Linning received PCSA’s International Award of Excellence and was recognized for his services and commitment to the association through his contributions to the Ethics Committee and his willingness to share his expertise in information technology with other members. -
Terrell Jones, CKO, owner of The Claridge Spa & Pet Resort of Cordova, Tennessee, and Elizabeth Jones, CAPCT, Owner of All 'Bout Cats & Dogs Pet Resort of Ocala, Florida. Both were awarded the PCSA International Award of Appreciation for their efforts to move the association ahead through their work on association committees. The two Joneses are current members of PCSA’s Board of Directors, with Terrell Jones having served as Chair of the Ethics Committee and Elizabeth Jones currently serving on the Audit Committee. -
Linda Lowney, CPCT, co-owner of Town & Country Kennels, Inc. located in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. Lowney was awarded the PCSA Community Services Award for the time and effort she contributed to help shape Pennsylvania’s newly adopted pet care legislation. -
Nancy Webb of Wells Fargo & Company was awarded the Herschel Talley Award for her willingness to speak at association events and share her experience and expertise with members and non-members alike. The award is named for Herschel Talley, a former PCSA Associate member who was instrumental in helping increase awareness of the association. Charlotte Biggs, CKO, Owner of Stay N Play Pet Ranch, Inc®. Biggs, who is the President of the PCSA Board of Directors, was awarded the Pet Care Services Association Leadership Award. This award is presented by the association staff to a member who has helped the PCSA staff accomplish their duties by providing leadership, support and direction. Biggs believes that the collaborative efforts of members and staff have helped improve the overall membership experience. She says, "Pet Care Services Association’s success can be attributed to the volunteer efforts of its members working in conjunction with a professional and hardworking staff. There are times when the efforts of a few make a significant difference in the impact we have within the pet care services industry at large.
